Toonerville
Collector's Club
The Toonerville Collector's Club was started in 1990 as an informal group dedicated to keeping the memory of the Toonerville Folk and the Toonerville Trolley alive. An additional goal is to perpetuate the memory of Fontaine Fox, the artist, by educating future generations as to his talents and contributions to the art world.
Pictured above is the heading of a March 1, 1925 Sunday Toonerville Folks comic strip. Fontaine Fox started this strip in 1915 and it ran until 1955. The word "Toonerville" which is now part of our English language is often used to refer to transportation systems that are as old, rickety and as unreliable as the original Toonerville Trolley.
It is hoped that this website will help you understand more about the Toonerville Folks and the Trolley and give you some information about the Toonerville Collector's Club.
