The Classic Wind-ups
What could be better than to start this section with the extremely rare Aunt Eppie Hogg truck with the Skipper driving.

(Text is from Carl Lobel’s speech to the Antique Toy Collectors of America convention held in Louisville, Kentucky in the spring of 2005.

“This piece was made in Nuremberg, Germany, circa 1922. by the H. Fischer Company.  The example shown came from Australia and was owned by the Sadagurskys who sold it to a collector, Phil Samuels of St. Louis, who in 2005, sold it to Steve Geppi of Diamond International Galleries, Timonium, Maryland.  It was available at auction in January 2005 but failed to make the reserve bid of $15,500.00. (It is now on display at the Geppi Entertainment Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.)  Another example, also complete with correct driver, was found in the mid-90s and was again sold by the Sadagurskys, this time to collector, Norm Schaut.
